Nishkramana Sanskar

निष्क्रमण का अर्थ है बाहर निकलना। घर की अपेक्षा अधिक शुद्ध वातावरण में शिशु के भ्रमण की योजना का नाम निष्क्रमण संस्कार है। बच्चे के शरीर तथा मन के विकास के लिए उसे घर के चारदीवारी से बाहर ताजी शुद्ध हवा एवं सूर्यप्रकाश का सेवन कराना इस संस्कार का उद्देश्य है। गृह्यसूत्रों के अनुसार जन्म के बाद तीसरे शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया अर्थात् चान्द्रमास की दृष्टि से जन्म के दो माह तीन दिन बाद अथवा जन्म के चौथे माह में यह संस्कार करे।

The meaning of "Nishkraman" is to venture outside. The Nishkraman Sanskar is the ceremony that plans the child's exploration in an environment that is cleaner and purer than the home. The purpose of this ceremony is to expose the child to fresh, pure air and sunlight for the development of the body and mind. According to the Grihya Sutras, this ritual is performed two to three days after birth, during the third day of the third fortnight or in the fourth month after birth, considering the lunar calendar.
