Karnvedh Sanskar

कान में छेद कर देना कर्णवेध संस्कार है। गृह्यसूत्रों के अनुसार यह संस्कार तीसरे या पांचवे वर्ष में कराना योग्य है। आयुर्वेद के ग्रंथ सुश्रुत के अनुसार कान के बंधन से अंत्रवृद्धि (हर्निया) की निवृत्ति होती है। दाईं ओर की अंत्रवृद्धि को रोकने के लिए दाएं कान को तथा बाईं ओर की अंत्रवृद्धि को रोकने के लिए बाएं कान को छेद किया जाता है।
इस संस्कार में शरीर के संवेदनशील अंगों को अतिस्पर्शन या वेधन (नुकीली चीज से दबाव) द्वारा जागृत करके थेलेमस और हाइपोथेलेमस ग्रंथियों को स्वस्थ करते हैं और सारे शरीर के अंगों में उन्हें पुष्टि भरी जाती है, ताकि वे अंग सशक्त हों और भद्र ग्रहण कर सकें। बालिकाओं के लिए इसके अतिरिक्त नासिका का भी छेदन किया जाता है।

"Karnavedh Sanskar" is the ceremony of piercing the ears. According to the Grihya Sutras, this ceremony is recommended to be performed in the third or fifth year. As per the Ayurvedic text Sushruta, piercing the ears helps in the prevention of hernia. The right ear is pierced to prevent the right-sided hernia, and the left ear is pierced to prevent the left-sided hernia.
In this ceremony, by stimulating the sensitive parts of the body through intense touch or piercing, the thalamus and hypothalamus glands are activated, providing nourishment to all parts of the body. This ensures that all the organs are strong and capable of receiving auspicious influences. Additionally, for girls, the nostril is also pierced in this ceremony.
